LaDarrion Williams is a self-taught playwright, filmmaker, author, and screenwriter from Helena, Alabama, now based in Los Angeles. He began his writing career in theater, with plays including Boulevard of Bold Dreams, Coco Queens, and Hurt People, before making his novelistic debut with the New York Times and USA Today bestselling young adult fantasy Blood at the Root. He continues to create stories across theater, film, and fiction that center Black voices, history, and imagination.
