Hendrik Groen is the pseudonym of Dutch writer Peter de Smet. He began his pseudonymous diary on the literary website Torpedo Magazine and published The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen in 2014, followed by further novels and diary-style fiction. His books became international bestsellers, were translated into more than twenty languages, and inspired stage and television adaptations.
