Brenda Murphy is a Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor Emerita of English at the University of Connecticut, where she taught from 1989 after fourteen years at St. Lawrence University. She has written more than twenty books, articles, and reviews, primarily on American drama, theater history, and twentieth-century American literature, including studies of Tennessee Williams, Eugene O’Neill, Arthur Miller, and David Mamet. More recently, she has also published historical fiction, biographical fiction, biography, and memoir.
