Ellison Cooper is an Irish-American author of crime and thriller fiction, best known for the FBI neuroscientist Sayer Altair series, which began with her debut novel Caged and continued with Buried and Cut to the Bone. She began writing fiction while conducting anthropological research in Micronesia; her short fiction has appeared in crime and science-fiction anthologies and magazines. Cooper holds a Ph.D. in anthropology from UCLA and lives in the Bay Area.
