Charles C. Mann is an American science journalist and nonfiction author whose writing explores the intersections of history, science, technology, commerce, and the environment. He has worked as a correspondent for The Atlantic, Science, and Wired, and has written for publications including The New York Times, Smithsonian, Vanity Fair, and The Washington Post. He is best known for 1491, 1493, and The Wizard and the Prophet, and has also coauthored several other nonfiction books.
