Judith Guest is an American novelist and screenwriter whose writing career began with the acclaimed 1976 debut Ordinary People, which won the Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize and became the basis for the 1980 Academy Award-winning film. She later wrote Second Heaven, Errands, the mystery novel Killing Time in St. Cloud with Rebecca Hill, and The Tarnished Eye, a suspense novel rooted in Michigan crime.
