Patricia McCormick is an American author and former journalist whose writing career began in newspaper and magazine journalism before she turned primarily to fiction. A two-time National Book Award finalist, she writes critically acclaimed books for young adults and children, including Sold, Never Fall Down, Purple Heart, and The Plot to Kill Hitler, often focusing on trauma, resilience, war, and human rights. She also co-authored the young readers’ edition of I Am Malala and holds an MFA from The New School.
