Katy Hays is a Californian writer and adjunct art history professor whose fiction draws on art, academia, history, and the occult. She is the author of the literary thrillers The Cloisters (2022) and Saltwater (2025). Hays holds an MA in art history from Williams College, pursued a PhD at UC Berkeley, and previously worked at institutions including the Clark Art Institute and SFMoMA.
