Paul Krugman is an American economist, author, and public intellectual known for writing accessible books on economics, politics, inequality, recessions, and globalization. He has authored both academic works and popular nonfiction, including Arguing with Zombies, End This Depression Now!, The Return of Depression Economics and the Crisis of 2008, and The Conscience of a Liberal. He was a New York Times opinion columnist from 2000 to 2024 and continues to write a newsletter on economics and public affairs.
