Robertson Davies (1913–1995) was a Canadian novelist, playwright, journalist, critic, and professor. After working with London’s Old Vic Company and serving as editor and publisher of the Peterborough Examiner, he became a major figure in Canadian literature, publishing more than thirty books, including the Salterton, Deptford, and Cornish trilogies. He later taught at the University of Toronto and was the founding Master of Massey College.
