Nina Bouraoui is a French novelist and songwriter, born in Rennes in 1967 to an Algerian father and French mother. She began publishing with La voyeuse interdite in 1991, which won the Prix du Livre Inter, and later received the Prix Renaudot for Mes mauvaises pensées in 2005. Her literary and often autofictional novels explore identity, desire, memory, Algeria-France cultural duality, and lesbian experience.
