Pier Vittorio Tondelli (1955–1991) was an influential Italian novelist, short-story writer, journalist, and cultural critic. He debuted in 1980 with Altri libertini, a controversial and acclaimed collection of interconnected stories, and later published novels including Pao Pao, Rimini, and Separate Rooms. His writing explored youth culture, sexuality, marginality, friendship, grief, and the social landscape of Italy in the 1980s; he also edited the Under 25 anthologies and wrote extensively about music, fashion, travel, and contemporary culture.
