Kōtarō Isaka is a Japanese author who began writing full time after winning the Shincho Mystery Club Prize for his debut novel, Audubon's Prayer, in 2000. A graduate of Tohoku University’s law faculty and former systems engineer, he has since published numerous bestselling novels and short-story collections, won major Japanese literary awards, and seen many of his works adapted for film and television, including Bullet Train.
