Geraldine Brooks is an Australian-born American author and journalist who began her writing career as a reporter for The Sydney Morning Herald and later covered conflicts and international affairs for The Wall Street Journal. She became a novelist with Year of Wonders and has written acclaimed historical novels including People of the Book, Caleb’s Crossing, The Secret Chord, and Horse. Her novel March won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and she has also published nonfiction, memoir, and journalism.
