Kabir was a 15th-century Indian mystic poet and saint whose vernacular Hindi verses became central to the Bhakti and Sant traditions. His dohas, songs, and devotional poems challenged religious orthodoxy and drew on both Hindu and Islamic mystical ideas; his work was transmitted largely through oral tradition and later collected in works such as the Bijak and the Guru Granth Sahib.
