Murray Newton Rothbard (1926–1995) was an American economist, historian, political theorist, and prolific author associated with the Austrian School of economics and modern libertarianism. He wrote more than two dozen books and hundreds of articles spanning economic theory, economic and American history, political philosophy, legal theory, and monetary policy. His major works include Man, Economy, and State, America's Great Depression, For a New Liberty, The Ethics of Liberty, and Conceived in Liberty.
