Johnny Cash (1932–2003) was an American singer-songwriter and author whose writing extended beyond lyrics into autobiography, memoir, poetry, and fiction. He wrote Man in Black (1975) and Cash: The Autobiography (1997), as well as the Christian historical novel Man in White (1986), which retells the conversion and life of the Apostle Paul. Forever Words: The Unknown Poems (2016) collects his poetry and other writings.
