Michael Moorcock (born 1939) is an English writer and editor whose career began with commercial fantasy in the 1950s. As editor of New Worlds in the 1960s, he helped shape the British New Wave of science fiction. He is best known for the interconnected Eternal Champion stories, including the Elric, Corum, and Hawkmoon series, while also writing literary, historical, and contemporary fiction such as Mother London.
