Alan Bradley was a Canadian mystery writer best known for the internationally bestselling Flavia de Luce series, which began with The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie in 2009. The series features an eleven-year-old amateur detective and aspiring chemist solving murders in postwar England, and earned Bradley numerous major mystery-writing awards. He also wrote the memoir The Shoebox Bible and died in May 2026.
