Miranda Cowley Heller is an American novelist, editor, and television executive. She began her writing career as a ghostwriter, book doctor, and associate editor at Cosmopolitan before becoming HBO’s senior vice president and head of drama series, where she developed acclaimed shows including The Sopranos and The Wire. Her debut novel, The Paper Palace, was published in 2021, followed by What the Deep Water Knows.
