Thomas P. Hillman is a retired scholar and teacher of classics whose writing focuses on Tolkien, classical literature, and related themes of myth, power, pity, and morality. He has published articles on Roman history, Greek biography, and Tolkien, and has presented his work at Tolkien studies conferences including Mythmoot. His book Pity, Power, and Tolkien’s Ring: To Rule the Fate of Many is his major published work.
