Richard H. Schneider (1922–) is an American journalist and author who worked as a senior staff editor and writer for Guideposts magazine beginning in 1969, later retiring after nearly four decades. Writing under both Richard H. Schneider and Dick Schneider, he authored or coauthored more than 30 books, including inspirational biographies, religious nonfiction, American history, memoirs, and children’s Christmas stories. His best-known works include I Dared to Call Him Father, China Cry, Taps, Stars & Stripes Forever, and Why Christmas Trees Aren’t Perfect.
