Jonathan Myerson Katz is an American journalist and author whose writing focuses on politics, history, conflict, disaster, and U.S. foreign policy. A former Associated Press foreign correspondent, he reported extensively from Haiti and other international hotspots before publishing The Big Truck That Went By (2013), an award-winning account of the Haiti earthquake and relief effort. His second book, Gangsters of Capitalism (2022), combines investigative reporting, travel, and archival research to examine the history of American empire.
