Bernie Marcus (1929–2024) was a business leader, philanthropist, and co-founder of The Home Depot who later wrote about entrepreneurship, leadership, resilience, and giving back. He co-authored Built from Scratch: How a Couple of Regular Guys Grew The Home Depot from Nothing to $30 Billion with Arthur Blank and Bob Andelman, and wrote Kick Up Some Dust: Lessons on Thinking Big, Giving Back, and Doing It Yourself with Catherine Lewis.
