Michael Korda is an English-born novelist, memoirist, historian, and longtime book editor who joined Simon & Schuster in 1958 and later became its editor-in-chief. He began writing magazine articles and self-help books, then published fiction such as Queenie and memoirs including Charmed Lives and Another Life. In later years, he became best known for narrative histories and biographies of figures including Ulysses S. Grant, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Robert E. Lee, and T. E. Lawrence, as well as books on military history and his experiences with horses and cancer.
