They are the New York Times bestselling author of the young adult memoir-manifesto All Boys Aren’t Blue and also wrote We Are Not Broken and Flamboyants: The Queer Harlem Renaissance I Wish I’d Known. Johnson has contributed to outlets including Teen Vogue, Essence, Ebony, BuzzFeed, and The Root, and co-authored the young adult contemporary romance There’s Always Next Year with Leah Johnson.
