Sally Rooney is an Irish novelist and writer from County Mayo. She began publishing poetry and essays before completing her debut novel, Conversations with Friends, while studying for a master’s degree in American literature. Her subsequent novels Normal People, Beautiful World, Where Are You, and Intermezzo established her as a major contemporary literary voice, known for exploring intimacy, class, politics, friendship, and relationships.
