Michael Allen is an American historian and professor emeritus at the University of Washington Tacoma, specializing in early American history, frontier studies, and American studies. He has written scholarly works on U.S. history and frontier culture and co-authored Larry Schweikart’s bestselling A Patriot’s History of the United States and The Patriot’s History Reader. His writing career combines academic history, American political history, and historical reference.
