Kamila Shamsie is a Pakistani-British novelist who grew up in Karachi and began her writing career with In the City by the Sea, published in 1998. She has written eight novels, including A God in Every Stone, Home Fire, and Best of Friends, often exploring history, migration, identity, politics, and family across Pakistan, Britain, and the wider world. Her work has received major recognition, including the Women’s Prize for Fiction for Home Fire, and she is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
