Emma Cline is an American novelist and short-story writer from California. She made her debut with The Girls in 2016, followed by the story collection Daddy and the novel The Guest. Her fiction and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Granta, and The New York Times, and she has received the Plimpton Prize, an O. Henry Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
