Arthur Rimbaud (1854–1891) was a French poet who wrote most of his major work between 1869 and 1875, transforming conventional verse through visionary imagery, radical language, and experimentation with prose poetry. His best-known works include The Drunken Boat, A Season in Hell, and Illuminations. A major figure in Symbolism, he later became an important precursor to Surrealism and modern poetry.
