Otto Penzler is an American mystery editor, publisher, bookseller, and writer. He co-authored the Edgar Award-winning Encyclopedia of Mystery and Detection, founded The Mysterious Press and The Mysterious Bookshop, and has edited more than 80 anthologies spanning classic and contemporary crime fiction. He also served as series editor of The Best American Mystery Stories and has received two Edgar Awards along with several lifetime-achievement honors.
