Sun Yung Shin is an award-winning Korean American poet, writer, editor, and children’s book author who was born in Seoul, raised near Chicago, and lives in Minneapolis. She has published multiple poetry collections, including The Wet Hex, Unbearable Splendor, Rough, and Savage, and Skirt Full of Black, as well as creative nonfiction, anthologies, bilingual children’s books, and picture books. Her writing often explores immigration, language, belonging, race, adoption, history, and Korean American identity.
