Junot Díaz is a Dominican-American writer born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New Jersey. He began his literary career with the short-story collection Drown, followed by the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao and the story collection This Is How You Lose Her. He is also a professor of writing at MIT and has published fiction, essays, and children's literature.
