Steve Niles is an American comic-book writer and novelist best known for horror works including 30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre, The October Faction, and Freaks of the Heartland. He began his career in the 1980s through his self-publishing company Arcane Comix, later writing, editing, and adapting comics for major publishers including Eclipse, DC, Dark Horse, IDW, and Marvel. His work is widely credited with helping revive horror comics in the modern era.
