Peter S. Beagle is an American novelist, screenwriter, and short-story writer whose career began with the publication of A Fine and Private Place in 1960. Best known for the classic fantasy novel The Last Unicorn, he has also written novels, short-fiction collections, nonfiction, screenplays, poetry, and song lyrics. His work has received Hugo, Nebula, Mythopoeic, Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire, and World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement awards.
