Tananarive Due is an award-winning American author and educator whose writing career began with her 1995 novel The Between after working as a journalist and columnist for the Miami Herald. She is a leading voice in Black speculative fiction, known for horror, supernatural thrillers, science fiction, and short stories, including The Reformatory, My Soul to Keep, The Good House, Ghost Summer, and The Wishing Pool and Other Stories. She has also written for television and film, co-authored works with Steven Barnes and her mother Patricia Stephens Due, and teaches Black Horror and Afrofuturism at UCLA.
